Problems of Rohingya Muslims of Burma: Solutions in the Light of Contemporary Laws
Keywords:
Rohingya Muslims, Buddhist, Rohingya Problems, Contemporary LawsAbstract
Human rights are those rights which are attributed to or acquired by humans on the basis of being human. These are also called basic rights. Global human efforts are focused on creating a world where humans are treated equally without discrimination on the basis of color and creed. In civilized societies, people should be getting equal treatment in terms of rights and respect within state laws and policies regardless to their creed. In the rapidly changing world, from the time when human rights have gained centrality and importance, countries are considered livable only when they ensure protection of minorities’ political, economic and religious rights. In Burma, Buddhists are in majority and Rohingya are a minority. It is direly needed that in Burma, minority issues, specifically those related to Rohingya Muslims should be addressed on priority basis. And that the exploitation of Rohingyas should be stopped.
