Rectifications of Tafseer al Manaar on Tafseer Mafateeh al Ghaib and Tafseer al Jalalain in the discourses of Qur'anic Sciences (A critical study)

Abstract

This study aims to cumulate and evaluate the commentary

of Muhammad Rashīd Ridhā, in his famous exegetical enterprise “Al-Manār” on the Qurānic exegeses of both of Al-Rāzi and Jalālayn. Ridhā primarily comments on credential, legislative and linguistic errors of both of the commentators including their oversights in the sciences of the Qurān (Ulūm Al-Qurān). The present study is confined to his examination of the commentaries of both AL-Rāzi and Jalālayn in Ulūm Al-Qurān. It is focused on collection, arrangement and subsequent classification of the themes like occasions of revelation, abrogation, relevance of occurrence, and ambiguities. The study is a comparative and analytical research in the light of textual and rational arguments.
