The approach of Sheikh Izhaar Ahmad Al-Thanvi in the science of Ilm e Qiraat and Tajweed

Abstract

Among the scholars who have made great efforts in the science of Ilm e Qiraat and Tajweed in the Indian subcontinent is Sheikh Qari Izhaar Ahmed Thanavi.He has a high standing in the field of Ilm e Qiraat, and he received the Gold Medal from the Pakistani Prime Minister, General Zia al-Haq, in 1988 AD, and also, he was a judge in the reading competition in Malaysia in 1969 AD and Saudi Arabia in 1984 AD. And he taught Arabic and Persian books after his emigration to Pakistan.

The Sheikh wrote several topics in various magazines, from the (weekly) magazine “Haft Roza Khadam Al-Din” and Rozeh “Al-I’tisam”.

And from a monthly magazine “Mahanama al-Balagh” which is published by the Darul Uloom Karachi, and Mahanamah: “al-Haqq” is published by the Dar al-Uloom al-Haqqania, and Mahanama: Nazar o Fikar published by the International Islamic University in Islamabad and “Tajweed” magazine which is published from the city of Faisalabad.

His life was in accordance with the Sunnah of the Prophet, and the Sheikh was avoiding evil, and he was persevering in the commands of God Almighty, and he was a clever and intelligent man, and he was skilled in the Arabic language, and he writes Sharh al-Shatibia in the Arabic language, and he was a man of perfection in the sciences of Arabic, especially in the science of Recitation and Tajweed
