METONYMY AND ITS RHETORICAL SIGNIFICANCES IN THE HOLY QURAN FROM SURAH AL ANFAL TO SURAH YOUSAF

Abstract

The metonymy is a branch of litral figuration of rhetotic science, Many scholar have paid close attention and emphasized on it in every era to discover and find out the literal and eloquent beauties of the meaning of the words of the holy Quran. In this research we handled those rhetorical arts which talked about to show the knowledge of this main creative ability in this field.
The nature of this research demanded to discribe of metonymy and its scientific status and creative beauties which appeared in quran from surah al anfal to surah yousaf, which is characterized by accuracy and secrecy. By the end of our research became clear that the metonymy is a part of the rhetoric sciences which play important roles in understanding of the meaning of the words of the holy Quran,moreover this research aimed to prove the legality and validity of the rhetoric science in every time.
