Abstract

This article is based on the jurisprudence of hadith according to Imam Ahmad bin Hanbal in issues related to water through his questions (in the narration of his son Abdullah). He responded to various questions in the book Masail Al-Imam Ahmad bin Hanbal, and in some of the answers the Imam referred to the hadith as evidence, so these issues and explanation of the jurisprudence of hadith according to Imam Ahmad bin Hanbal would be critically analysis. This article is meant to address how did Imam Ahmad bin Hanbal infer from this hadith: is he a muhaddith only or is he also a jurist, and does he have rules or does he act on the apparent meaning of the hadith?
