The principles that the Muḥaddithīn set up to examine the circumstances of the narrators and rule on them are called ‘Ilm al-Jarḥ wal-T’adīl. And ‘Ilm al-Jarḥ wal-T’adīl is considered half of the knowledge of Ḥadith, because it is a great knowledge whose accuracy, precision as well as breadth and coverage cannot be exemplified by any encyclopedia. In this article, Allama Ibn Abd al-Barr's method is being presented for the research of ‘Adalah of narrators, Jahālah and their unanonymous identifications. Allama Ibn Abd al-Barr's style of research and reasoning is based on the Quran and Sunnah and following it is evidence. They do not accept anyone's ijtihād in comparison to the Quran and the Sunnah, Ijmā’ and Qiyāe-Ṣaḥīḥ, no matter how great a religious scholar he may be. And whoever is related to the religion, yes, his method in refuting popular sayings is purely scholarly and fair. In his opinion, the absence of cross-examination or any other defect in the narrator does not prove the judgment of the narrator, and gender is also important in the process of memorization. In order to take ḥadith from such a person, we believe in the necessary ijtihād. In this regard, this paper presents the best narrative analysis.
