The rules of selection of national leadership in an Islamic state and Islamic teachings

Abstract:

Concept of leadership is a comprehensive and holistic notion.  To run the system as per law is its fundamental principle.  This research paper throws light on guiding principles of national leadership in light of Islamic teaching.   Whenever these golden ideals were being observed by the Muslim leaders, they remained successful over the span of 1400 years.  A leader should be capable physically, mentally, spiritually and administratively as guided in Quran and Sunnah. Tolerance, piousness, God fearing, and integrity should be his/her chief attributes.  It is need of the hour that Islamic states could be governed effectively by inducting and electing leadership with such lofty characteristics.
