In this Article, we learn about the most important features of the Arab social novel through the four novels of the great writer and poet Abdul Rahman Al-Sharqawi: "الأرض"(Earth) 1954 AD, "شوارع الخلفية"(Back streets) 1957 AD, "قلوب خالية" (empty hearts) 1957 AD, "الفلّاح"(The farmer)1980AD.Abdel Rahman Al-Sharqawi was born in the Egyptian province of Menoufia in 1920.His work as a poet, novelist, journalist and playwright is highly regarded for its realism and commitment to social issues of the day. He died in 1987. He wrote more than a dozen short stories, novels, books and articles, Al-Sharqawi novels present human issues in his society, important political and social issues, until his actions appeared to be true mirror for his ideas and attitudes towards his society, from man, and human life. Abdul Rahman Al-Sharqawi through his literature portrays the lives of workers in the Egyptian rural community. The most important characteristic of Al-Sharqawi’s novels is their vitality, honesty and success in convincing the reader that what he tells about him has really happened to real people.The.Keepingin view the importance of this topic, I have chosen topic about: “The contributions of Abdul Rahman Al-Sharqawi in the field of the Arab social novel”.
